€Provisional CRASE Crash Centre Laboratory (PC3)

Provisional CRASE Crash Centre Laboratory or the PC3 Laboratory is located in Melaka on 24 May 2012. It is the first to be developed in the South East Asia region, with the overall cost of RM 6 million, a considerably lower sum than the cost of constructing similar labs in other countries which normally cost between RM 30 and 40 million. The construction of the laboratory fulfills the specifications and requirements, and it has been deemed by the ASEAN NCAP to be suitable for vehicle crash tests. The ground-breaking ceremony for the laboratory was held on 17 January 2012, and it was then officiated by HRH Prince Michael of Kent of the United Kingdom on 24 May 2012, followed by a crash test demonstration. At its inception, 17 crash tests have been conducted within the laboratory’s compound, and it was achieved the distinction of being Malaysia’s first full-scale crash laboratory and will be declared as the ‘Best of Nation’ in 2013.
